GLUCOSAMINE TREATS THE CAUSE OF OSTEOARTHRITIS

What is Glucosamine and how does it work?

Glucosamine is the treatment doctors and patients have been waiting for. It is one of the building blocks of joint cartilage and is found in the shells of crustaceans (prawns etc). It works by regenerating damaged cartilage.

Large medical trials have tested glucosamine use for three years and found that it relieves pain, and STOPS the damage to the joint cartilage.

This means glucosamine is the only treatment that has been PROVEN to give long-term pain relief and to stop osteoarthritis progressing.

In addition, clinical trials have confirmed that glucosamine has NO MEASURABLE SIDE EFFECTS and is safe for people with sulphur allergies.

Only people with shellfish allergies should not take it.

MEALS ON WHEELS FRASER COAST

Meals on Wheels Fraser Coast finished August on a busy, but high note. National Meals on Wheels Day fell on Wednesday 27th and local emergency services provided volunteers and vehicles to fit in with the theme of the day "Fast and Friendly". Fire engines, Paramedics vehicles and State Emergency Vehicles were seen out in the community, but in a totally different role to the normal.

HACC Awareness was on the agenda and sample bags and drink bottles with other useful bits and pieces were sent to each client of the service.

Remember "Fresh Nutritious meals delivered to your home are only a phone call away."

Telephone Vicki at Meals on Wheels Fraser Coast, on 4121 4297, to make arrangements for yourself or family members.

Familiar All Too Familiar

I was recently diagnosed with AAADD – Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests itself –

I decide to water my flower tubs in the front garden.
As I go to turn on the hose I look over at my car and decide it needs washing and decide to get the car keys and then notice the post on the porch table.
I decide to go through the post before I wash the car.
I put my car keys on the table, put the junk mail under the table, and notice that the bin is full.
I take out the rubbish, put the bills on the table, grab the cheque book, find out there is only one leaf left and require more.

At the end of the day:
The flower tubs aren't watered;
The car isn't washed;
The bills aren't paid;
There is a warm can of coke sitting on the window ledge;
The flowers in the vase don't have enough water;
There is still only one cheque in my cheque book;
I can't find the remote;
I can't find my glasses;
I have absolutely NO idea what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to work out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day, and I'm really tired.

MadCOTA - Thank-you

The success of the Maryborough & District Committee on the Ageing Inc. is due to its many volunteers. Dezzley Watts has been a volunteer at "Our Place", the tea room run in conjunction with the City Council every Thursday morning since its inception more than 12 years ago. Unfortunately Dezzley has resigned due to family commitments and we would like to place on record our thanks for her many hours of devoted services to this Committee and the Community. Thank you, Dezzley.

Sydneu

'Is this your first time in Sydney?' the taxidriver inquired of a Scotsman wearing the full cossie of kilt and sporran.
'Ai', he said, 'and not only that, I'm on my honeymoon.'
'Then where's your wife?'
'Oh, she's been here before.'
