Stress Lowers Immune System Research has confirmed what has been suspected for years - stress makes you sick! Scientists have discovered that high levels of a particular hormone occur at times of stress. This hormone is a little-known cousin of adrenaline, and inhibits the ability of the body to fight off bacteria and viruses. Techniques for Reducing Stress Self-Direction. People need to take responsibility for their lives. Enjoy relationships, put as much as you can into them, but do not let them run your life. Flexibility. Keep the thinking open, particularly as you get older. "Wear life like a loose robe!" Don't necessarily aim for perfection. Schedule things and then finish one task at a time. Don't over-plan and always schedule some enjoyment in those plans. Don't become obsessed with self-organisation. Develop some social responsibility. Learn some relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, exercise - at least 45 minutes 3 times per week. |

Stay on Your Feet Wear Safe FootwearTo stay on your feet you need footwear that STAYS ON YOUR FEET. What is "unsafe" footwear?
Look After Your FeetOur feet have to do a huge job for us. In an average lifetime they carry us a distance more than four times the earth's circumference. Our feet are very complex structures containing nearly a quarter of the bones in our body (26 bones to be exact), so they should be looked afer. But too often we just take our feet for granted. Foot pain or other problems can affect your balance and the way you walk so see your GP or Podiatrist soon. If you have diabetes regular checking is even more vital. ...and remember your regular physical activity |
