Global Warming

French researchers have used ancient records of the Pinot Noir grapes grown in Burgundy continually since the Middle Ages to determine annual spring-summer temperatures in eastern France over the past six centuries. Church and Municipal Archives have been kept since 1370.

From the records, they have been able to calculate accurately the dates of harvest and from that the temperature of the warm season. Findings show that 1380's, 1420's, 1520's and 1630 to 1680 were all 1.7 degrees Celsius above normal. Things then cooled down until 1980's when an exceptionally warm period began. While this marks a local trend for eastern France it is comparable to findings from global studies. Furthermore the trend is quite stable and unprecedented.

WHAT IS THE CRRS?

The CRRS is a service that helps people with disability sort out complaints about disability employment and advocacy services funded by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services.

WHO CAN MAKE A COMPLAINT?

Anyone who

  • Uses or wants to use disability employment or advocacy services funded by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services,
  • is concerned about a person who uses or wants to use these services.

If you are making a complaint on behalf of someone else, the CRRS will ask that person if it is okay for us to look into it.

WHAT CAN I MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT?

The CRRS helps sort out complaints when a service is not meeting the National Disability Services Standards. If you have a problem

  • at work
  • with a service that helps you find work or
  • with your advocacy service
call the CRRS and we will work out if your problem is about the Standards. If it is not, we will tell you about another service that may be able to help you.

Who walks in a rut walks alone
Ruts grow deeper and deeper:
There's only room for one in a rut,
Walls rise steep and steeper.
Soon he's lonely lost to view,
Soon he can't see over
To where his friends of yesterday
Are walking in fields of clover.

At the job interview: "Your CV looks good Miss Andrews. I see you left your previous employer because of sickness. Was it serious illness?"
"I never asked him."
"Asked him?"
"My boss just said he got good and sick of me."

EMAIL PRAYER

Author unknown

Dear Lord
Every single evening as I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer keeps running through my head.
God bless all my family wherever they may be.
Keep them warm and safe from harm for they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking, please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual to bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second while I explain it to you, Lord.

You see, that little metal box holds more than odds and ends,
Inside those small compartments rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them by the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them - much the same as you -
We share in what life brings us and from that our friendships grew.
Please take an extra minute from your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book that's filled so much with love.

Wherever else this prayer may reach to each and every friend,
Bless each e-mail inbox and each person who hits "send".
When you update your heavenly list on your own great CD-ROM
Bless everyone who says this prayer sent up to GOD.com.

AMEN.
